A three-month winter reading challenge by Casey Cardinia Libraries has thrilled local Narre Warren resident, Sue Brown, as she claims a first-prize pack of a book and tickets to the Melbourne Writer's Festival.
In the inaugural Book Bingo, library members across the Casey-Cardinia region were asked to read books described on the Book Bingo sheet. Once they had filled out five boxes in aline, either diagonally, horizontally or vertically, they could enter the competition.
CCL's Information Services Coordinator, Michelle McLean, was delighted to present Sue (pictured left) and Narre Warren resident Errol De Niese (pictured right), with their winning packs. Second prize winner, Pam Miller from Pakenham was awarded her prize at her local branch.
Ms Brown was thrilled with the opportunity to go the Melbourne Writer's Festivla and is looking forward to attending a panel session featuring an author that her book group had recently read. Mr De Niese enjoying discovering books and authors he wouldn't normally choose and admitted his impetus for getting involved came from his wife, who urged him to read, read, read!
Both were delighted to be invovled and look forward to participating in the competition again next year.
